Kiriazi Water Heater Repair: Digital Gas and Electric

You open the hot tap and the gas heater clicks but never lights? It lights, then dies in the shower? Or the electric heater takes hours and still runs cold? Kiriazi Repair is an independent center, not the manufacturer, for out-of-warranty Kiriazi heaters: 5 and 10 litre digital gas models with batteries or a mains adaptor, and 45, 55 and 65 litre electric models. Call 16062 or WhatsApp us.

  • Digital gas 5 and 10 L, electric
  • Cost confirmed before repair
  • Booking and follow-up

Mention gas or electric, the model (e.g. KGH10AD or KEH55), the gas type, and whether your water pressure is weak. Do not open the cover to read the label.

Read this first

Smell gas? No flames and no electrical switches: open the windows, close the gas valve, leave, and call the gas emergency line 129 from a safe place. Headache, dizziness or nausea while showering with a gas heater is a carbon-monoxide warning: get to fresh air at once and do not use the heater until the flue and ventilation are checked.

Before you book a Kiriazi heater repair

Have the model and a description of what happens when you open the tap ready. Check only user settings described by the manual; do not open the casing or disconnect water or gas lines.

  • State whether it is gas or electric, and battery- or adaptor-powered.

  • Describe clicking, a flame that goes out, or no response.

  • Photograph the display and label safely; stop using it if there is a gas or burning smell.

Kiriazi water heater faults: describe the symptom first

The first five are gas-heater faults, the rest electric. Symptoms guide the inspection; they do not prove a part has failed.

Gas heater clicks but will not light

What you see

Sparking on opening the tap, but no flame, or it lights only after many tries with a bang.

Likely causes

Possible causes include ignition power, gas supply, the water assembly or controls. Hearing a spark does not prove the other components work; a specialist checks the model-specific system.

Safe to try

Change the batteries or check the adaptor, and check the gas valve. If it lights with a loud bang, stop using it.

Technician

Measures supply voltage and the solenoid coil, cleans and gaps the electrode, and checks burner and gas pressure.

Gas heater does not respond to the tap at all

What you see

No clicking and no sound; the display may or may not be lit.

Likely causes

Weak water pressure, a blocked inlet strainer, a torn diaphragm, a stuck pin, a failed microswitch, flat batteries or the board. The declared electronic child lock also stops hot water.

Safe to try

Check batteries or adaptor, water pressure and the child lock; open the tap fully.

Technician

Checks the water assembly, diaphragm and microswitch in that order before the board.

Heater lights, then goes out

What you see

The flame runs for seconds or minutes, then dies, sometimes retrying.

Likely causes

Cut-outs may relate to power, water flow, ignition or protective controls. KGH10AD has a declared cut-off after more than 20 minutes of continuous use, but that does not establish why your unit stops.

Safe to try

Note how long it runs before cutting out and check the flue outlet is clear. Never bypass a sensor.

Technician

Cleans the exchanger and burner, and checks flame and overheat sensors and the exhaust path.

Lukewarm water or changing temperature

What you see

Not hot enough even at maximum, or hot and cold in turns.

Likely causes

Summer setting, more flow than the heater can warm, scale on the exchanger, low gas pressure, or a mixer adding cold water. A 5 L heater on a strong shower in winter will run lukewarm.

Safe to try

Switch to winter and reduce the flow slightly: less water, hotter water.

Technician

Descales the exchanger, checks gas pressure and burners, and says plainly if the heater is too small for your use.

Gas heater leaking water

What you see

Dripping under the heater or water on the wall below.

Likely causes

Water-assembly seals, inlet or outlet connections, or a pinhole in the copper exchanger from corrosion.

Safe to try

Close the water valve feeding the heater and the gas valve.

Technician

Replaces seals or fittings. Brazing a holed exchanger is often temporary; ask for the cost of a new exchanger against a new heater.

Electric heater not heating or very slow

What you see

Lamp on and water cold, heating takes far longer, or crackling from inside.

Likely causes

A burnt element, an element coated in scale, a failed thermostat, or a tripped thermal cut-out. Sediment in the tank causes the crackling.

Safe to try

Check thermostat setting and breaker. Do not remove the bottom cover: there are live terminals behind it.

Technician

Tests element and thermostat, removes the flange to clean out scale, and checks the magnesium anode.

Electric heater trips the breaker or the water tingles

What you see

The breaker drops when heating starts, or you feel a tingle from the tap or water.

Likely causes

A cracked element sheath leaking current into the water, burnt wiring, or poor earthing. This is the most dangerous electric-heater fault.

Safe to try

Switch the heater off at the breaker and do not use it. Never fit a larger breaker.

Technician

Tests element insulation and replaces it, and checks earthing and wiring.

Electric heater leaking

What you see

Drips from below, from the safety valve, or rust stains on the wall.

Likely causes

Flange seal, fittings, a safety valve relieving pressure, or corrosion of the tank itself once the anode is used up.

Safe to try

Switch off and close the water valve. A little dripping from the safety valve while heating is normal: never block it.

Technician

Finds the source. Flange or fitting leaks are repairable; a leaking tank usually means replacing the heater.

Inspecting the water assembly when needed

For delayed ignition or a leak, the technician checks the water and ignition components appropriate to the model. The presence or absence of a spark alone does not establish the condition of the diaphragm or microswitch.

Flue and ventilation: no compromises

Installation, flue and ventilation requirements must be checked against the exact model manual by a qualified gas specialist. A product described as flueless is not automatically suitable for an enclosed room.

  • Do not alter the flue, block ventilation or bypass a safety sensor.

  • For a gas smell, follow emergency guidance instead of waiting for a repair visit.

  • Stop using the heater and seek qualified inspection for unusual flames, soot or exhaust smells.

Display messages: what to record before inspection

We have not found a model-specific official code table in the sources reviewed. Send the display and model-label photos; a code alone does not identify a failed part.

Declared behaviour, not a fault

If still lukewarm on winter with a low flow

Unclear readings

  • Letters and numbers on the display
    What we need to know
The full code, model, and what the heater was doing
    What to do
Photograph it; do not use other brands' code tables
    When to book an inspection
If it repeats or the heater cuts out
  • Display blank or faint
    What we need to know
Batteries or adaptor? When were batteries last changed?
    What to do
Replace batteries or check the adaptor and socket

Kiriazi water heater models we take repair requests for

From Kiriazi's official product pages and retail listings. The label is on the side or underside of the heater.

  • Gas 5 L without flue

KGH5 and KGH5/1 “Star”, plus AD versions with a mains adaptor (KGH5AD, KGH5AD/1).

  • Gas 10 L with flue

    KGH10 and KGH10/1 “Star”, plus AD versions (KGH10AD, KGH10AD/1).

  • All gas models are digital and are sold in natural-gas and LPG versions; state which, because injectors and settings differ.

  • Electric

KEH45 and KEH55 (standard and digital VD) and the horizontal KEH65H. Retail data lists an enamelled tank, magnesium anode, dual thermostat and safety valve.

  • Older heater or unreadable label? Send photos of the heater from the front and from below.

What is decided after inspecting the heater?

We explain whether cleaning, a connection repair or a replacement is needed, with labour and parts priced before work. A symptom alone does not justify quoting a replacement part.

  • Inspection and travel fees are confirmed before booking.

  • Part compatibility and availability depend on the exact model.

  • The work performed carries a 6-month repair warranty.

Booking a Kiriazi heater repair and agreeing the cost

  1. Call 16062 or WhatsApp 01050887010 with the model, fault, gas type and area.

  2. Confirm availability, the appointment, inspection and travel fees, and what you pay if you decline the repair.

  3. After inspection, ask for the cause, the measurement that showed it, and the parts and labour cost before work.

  4. Check part compatibility, availability and warranty terms, and refuse any suggestion to bypass a safety sensor.

  5. Before use: a soap-solution gas leak test, ignition and shut-off tried in front of you, flue and ventilation checked, then the invoice.

Kiriazi water heater spare parts

Parts for the 5 L gas heater differ from the 10 L, and natural-gas injectors differ from LPG. In electric heaters, element rating and flange size depend on the model. Ask about source, compatibility, price and warranty before agreeing. Availability is checked per model, and safety devices are never removed to make a heater run.

  • Diaphragm membrane and seal kit
  • Water assembly
  • Microswitch
  • Ignition control board
  • Gas solenoid
  • Spark electrode and flame sensor
  • Overheat sensor
  • Copper heat exchanger
  • Electric element and thermostat
  • Magnesium anode
  • Safety valve

Using the heater safely after repair

  1. Never block ventilation openings in winter, and check each season that the 10 L flue is clear and leads outside.

  2. Replace gas-heater batteries before winter, and remove them if you will be away for a long time.

  3. With hard water, have the heat exchanger descaled before hot water weakens.

  4. Electric heater: have the magnesium anode checked; it corrodes instead of the tank and costs far less than a new heater.

  5. Never block the electric heater's safety valve or fit a valve between it and the heater.

  6. Avoid very high settings in homes with children or older people.

Kiriazi water heater repair questions

What is the Kiriazi water heater repair number?

For a heater under the manufacturer's warranty, Kiriazi's official hotline is 19091. Our independent center, for out-of-warranty heaters: 16062, WhatsApp 01050887010. Natural-gas emergency: 129.

How much does a diaphragm or water-assembly repair cost?

The quote depends on the model and affected component. We explain why a part needs repair or replacement and price the work before it starts.

Why does my digital Kiriazi heater cut out in the shower?

Kiriazi lists a protective cut-off after more than 20 minutes of continuous use for KGH10AD. That does not establish why your unit stops. For repeated or unusual cut-outs, stop using it and seek inspection; follow the model manual for restart instructions.

The heater clicks but will not light. Is the diaphragm broken?

Clicking alone proves neither that the diaphragm works nor that it has failed. Describe the sound and timing; inspection determines what needs attention.

Can a 10 L gas heater be installed without its flue?

No. Kiriazi sells it with a flue because its exhaust must leave the building. Running it without one in an enclosed space risks carbon-monoxide poisoning.

Are you Kiriazi's authorised heater service?

No. We are an independent center for out-of-warranty repairs. If your heater is under warranty, contact Kiriazi on its official number 19091.

How long is the repair warranty?

Repairs carry a 6-month warranty on the work performed. We explain its scope and terms before you approve the repair. Keep your job details for follow-up.
