Kiriazi Split Air Conditioner Repair: 1.5, 2.25 and 3 HP

The AC runs but the room will not cool? Water dripping down the wall, or the outdoor unit starting and cutting out? Kiriazi Repair is an independent center, not the manufacturer, for out-of-warranty Kiriazi split units, cooling-only and cooling/heating. Call 16062 or send the model, a photo of the display and the fault on WhatsApp.

  • Cooling-only and cooling/heating
  • Cost confirmed before repair
  • Booking and follow-up

Mention the model (e.g. KAC18CH) and capacity, whether the outdoor unit runs, and when the AC was last cleaned.

Burning smell, a breaker that keeps tripping, or water near the connections: stop using the AC and do not keep restarting it. Switch it off at the breaker, and never climb out to the outdoor unit on a ledge or window yourself.

Before you book a Kiriazi AC repair

Checks from the floor, with no ladder and no dismantling. Many “not cooling” calls end here.

  • Remote on cooling mode (the snowflake), not fan or dry, and set below room temperature.

  • Filters: open the indoor unit's front panel and slide them out. If they are dusty, rinse, dry in the shade and refit. Blocked filters mean weak airflow and ice on the pipes.

  • Windows and doors closed, and a capacity that suits the room: 1.5 HP will not cool a large living room open to the kitchen, however well it is repaired.

  • Outdoor unit, seen from a distance: is the fan turning, is anything blocking it, can you hear the compressor?

  • Power: Kiriazi ACs are listed for a wide voltage range, but very low summer voltage makes the compressor try to start and cut out.

Kiriazi AC faults: start from the symptom

The causes listed are possibilities, not a final diagnosis.

Runs but does not cool well

What you see

Air comes out lukewarm, or cold at first then weaker, or the room never reaches the set temperature.

Likely causes

Dirty filters and coils, an outdoor unit starved of air or in direct sun, a weak compressor capacitor, low refrigerant from a leak, or a capacity too small for the room.

Safe to try

Check the remote mode and filter condition using the manual. Note outdoor-unit sounds and fan movement from a safe position; air temperature alone does not confirm the compressor condition.

Technician

Measures the temperature drop across the indoor unit, pressures and current, then decides: cleaning, electrical, or refrigerant circuit.

Water dripping indoors

What you see

Water from under the indoor unit or down the wall, especially on humid days.

Likely causes

Drain hose or tray blocked with algae and dust, the indoor unit tilted the wrong way, a kinked or rising drain hose, or ice on the coil melting and overflowing.

Safe to try

Switch off if dripping heavily and protect the wall and floor. Rinse the filters. Do not blow into the drain or push wire into it from the unit.

Technician

Clears the drain, cleans the tray and checks the unit's slope; if ice is present, finds its cause.

Ice on the indoor unit or pipes

What you see

Frost on the indoor coil fins or the thin pipe, with little airflow.

Likely causes

Blocked filter or coil reducing airflow, a slow indoor fan, or low refrigerant. Very low settings in cool, humid weather also contribute.

Safe to try

Run fan-only mode until the ice melts and rinse the filters. Do not scrape the ice.

Technician

Checks airflow and fan, then pressures. Ice that returns after cleaning points to the refrigerant circuit.

Outdoor unit will not run, or starts and cuts out

What you see

The indoor unit blows plain air while the outdoor unit is silent, hums briefly and stops, or trips the breaker.

Likely causes

A weak compressor or fan capacitor, contactor or relay, low supply voltage, the compressor's thermal protection tripping from a dirty coil or high ambient heat, or a stalled compressor. A sensor fault can also stop the board sending the start signal.

Safe to try

Stop using the AC if the outdoor unit repeatedly starts and stops or the breaker trips. Do not restart it before inspection. Record the behaviour and consult the model manual instead of repeating the attempt.

Technician

Measures voltage, capacitors, current and compressor insulation, and checks sensors and the board's start signal.

Bad smell when it starts

What you see

A damp or mouldy smell as soon as the AC runs.

Likely causes

Bacteria and mould on the indoor coil and drain tray. The distributor lists an Auto Clean function, but it does not replace periodic cleaning.

Safe to try

Rinse the filters, and on humid days run fan-only for a quarter of an hour before switching off so the coil dries.

Technician

Full cleaning of coil, tray and blower wheel with suitable products, not an air freshener.

Code on the display, or no response to the remote

What you see

Letters and numbers instead of the temperature, blinking lamps, or the remote does nothing.

Likely causes

We have not found a model-specific official interpretation in the sources reviewed. Send the display and model-label photos; a code alone does not identify the part requiring repair.

Safe to try

Photograph the code and model label and follow that model manual; there is no single reset procedure we recommend for every code. If only the remote is unresponsive, check its batteries as instructed. For a burning smell or repeated breaker trips, stop using the AC and do not restart before inspection.

Technician

Checks sensors, the interconnecting cable and the board. The code sets the direction; measurement identifies the part.

Cooling/heating model does not heat

What you see

On CH models the air stays cold on heating mode, or the unit pauses for long periods.

Likely causes

Pausing for a few minutes to defrost the outdoor unit in winter is normal. No heat at all: the reversing (four-way) valve or its coil, or the same causes as weak cooling.

Safe to try

Check heating mode (the sun symbol) and wait a few minutes; the indoor fan deliberately waits until the coil is warm.

Technician

Measures the reversing-valve coil and the pressures in heating mode.

Cleaning or refrigerant top-up?

Weak cooling alone does not identify the service needed. The technician checks airflow, power and cooling performance before proposing cleaning or another repair.

Display messages: what to record before inspection

We have not found a model-specific official code table in the sources reviewed. Send the display and model-label photos; a code alone does not identify a failed part.

Handling a code or blinking lamps

  • Letters and numbers on the display
    What we need to know
The full code, the model, and whether the outdoor unit was running
    What to do
Photograph the code and model label and follow the model manual. For a burning smell or repeated breaker trips, stop using the AC and do not restart before inspection
    When to book an inspection
    If the code returns
  • Lamps blinking in a pattern
    What we need to know
Which lamp, and how many blinks
    What to do
Record a short video of the pattern
    When to book an inspection
    If cooling stops with it
  • Remote does not respond
    What we need to know
Does the manual button on the unit start it?
    What to do
Replace batteries and aim at the receiver
    When to book an inspection
If the manual button does not work either

Operating features and display controls vary by model. Follow the manual; this section helps prepare an inspection request, not diagnose a part.

  • We have no data on Kiriazi window, ducted or inverter units. If your label says otherwise, send a photo of it.

Kiriazi AC repair cost: what sets the price?

Cleaning is one price, a run capacitor another, and leak repair with brazing and charging another again. Capacity and the outdoor unit's position also change the cost.

  • When booking: inspection and travel fees, and what you pay if you decline the repair.

  • Outdoor unit position: a unit on a high façade without a balcony needs safety equipment, and that is costed.

  • Charging: ask whether the price covers leak detection, repair and vacuuming, or just the gas.

  • Compressor: ask for the inspection findings, reason for replacement, compatibility and cost before approving. The measurements and related components depend on the model.

  • On collection: check the work description and repair-warranty terms on the invoice.

Using the AC after service

  1. Rinse the filters every two weeks in summer, and have both units fully cleaned once before the season.

  2. Set 24 to 26°C: lower does not cool faster, it just stops the compressor cycling off.

  3. Use turbo for quick cooling at the start, not all day.

  4. Shade the outdoor unit from direct sun without blocking its airflow.

  5. When power flickers, follow the model manual and avoid repeated restart attempts. If the breaker trips or you notice a burning smell, stop using the AC and arrange an inspection.

  6. Cooling/heating models: test heating mode early, not on the first cold night.

Arrange an inspection at your address

Give your district, floor and outdoor unit position when you contact us. Customer service confirms visit availability, the appointment and any travel fee. Demand rises in summer, so appointments follow the visit schedule rather than an advance promise.

Kiriazi AC repair questions

What is the Kiriazi AC repair number?

For an AC under the manufacturer's warranty, Kiriazi's official hotline is 19091. Our independent center, for out-of-warranty units: 16062, WhatsApp 01050887010.

Is the Kiriazi AC an inverter?

Confirm compressor type, electrical ratings and refrigerant from the exact model label and manual; do not assume one specification applies to every Kiriazi AC.

My AC is not cooling. Does it need refrigerant?

Not necessarily. The most common cause is dirty filters and coils, then the compressor capacitor. Refrigerant only runs low through a leak. Ask for a pressure reading before any charging.

What does the code on my Kiriazi AC display mean?

Kiriazi publishes no code table, and the tables online are generic. Photograph the code and send it with the model; the technician uses it to direct the inspection, then confirms by measurement.

How often should the AC be cleaned?

Filters every two weeks in the cooling season, and both units fully cleaned at least once a year before summer, more often on a dusty street or near a kitchen.

Are you Kiriazi's authorised AC service?

No. We are an independent center for out-of-warranty repairs. If your AC is under warranty, contact Kiriazi on its official number 19091.

How long is the repair warranty?

Repairs carry a 6-month warranty on the work performed. We explain its scope and terms before you approve the repair. Keep your job details for follow-up.
